Police formalities
Foreign visitors must generally have valid passports with them. Visitors from the European Community do not need visas. Visitors from other countries should check with the French embassy in the country concerned.

Customs

French norms
In France, electrical appliances operate on 110 or 220 volts (50 hertz). If you have to use electrical appliances, make sure to bring the appropriate adaptors conforming to European norms.

Medical insurance
Before leaving home, make sure you have adequate insurance coverage for your stay in France. Europeans can obtain reimbursement of their medical expenses in France by completing the E111 form to be obtained in their country of origin.
