Economic development
on the Riviera

A constantly expanding economic fabric
The economic fabric of the Côte d'Azur is made up of 94,850 private and public entities, covering most of industrial, commercial and service activity, as well as crafts, the liberal professions, agriculture and public service.
The service and business sectors predominate, testifying to the French Riviera's two major industries: tourism and technology.
Turnover and GDP, the economic wealth of the Riviera
As of 1st January 2000, the companies operating on the French Riviera earned a turnover of more than 46.5 billion euros.
Nearly 70% of the region's turnover is generated by the service and retail industries. The industrial sector comes third, with 14% of the total, and benefits from an excellent ratio of turnover per job, identical to the retail industry.
